RE: J Cube Sofa

We had a version of the J-Cube in our Sunnyrbook. I liked it, kids liked it and being warm comes from how the trailer's built not the couch style. If the unit has zero insulation then it's cold on the floor or on the ceiling.
Black tank flusher's are a nice feature but they do have common issues like leaks and becoming plugged at the nozzle tip. I wouldn't pay extra for one but mine came standard with it.

RE: Space heaters.

I have a ceramic heater, a Holmes with 3-spd fan, oscilates, etc. It works VERY well to cut in half my propane use in cooler weather. While propane does a nice job of getting the coach warm the ceramic on keeps it going.
As far as saftey, the device I have features thermal protection, tip-over auto-off, etc. Also, keep it 3' from any materials that are flamable.

RE: What are the best-- Best valued tire?

If your looking for value and price then Maxxis tires are probably the highest rated ST tires on here in load range D (common sizes).

RE: Decisions, Decisions? Rockwood or Jayco?

I have a friend who bought a heartland Northtrail through LakeshoreRV (another online retailer), he has had NO issues getting warranty work done locally through a local inspendent RV shop.
If you contact the manufacturer and get prior authorization your usually going to have no issues getting a local independent shop to work on your rig.

RE: Need help from experienced RVers

Well your coming from a Sunnybrook - so your expectations are going to be high. I think you'd be happier with the Jayco or KZ. They have superior customer service and standard 2 year warranties. I don't think you could go wrong with either the Spree or the Jayflight.

RE: Crossroads RV?

We have been fulltiming in a Cruiser 29 CK for 4 1/2 years. Great unit for the money. Factory support is probably the best in the industry. About a month ago we went to the service center to have a Mor-Ryde suspension system added with a wet boltkit. While we were there we had a few other things taken care of. Service was superb, cost was reasonable and they did everything in a half a day.
While there a rep gave us a tour of a new Sevile complete with the 17 cu. ft. refrigeratoer, fireplace and fake stone wall. We are now seriously thinking about upgrading.

Go for it Cigar Mike - wife and I are seriously thinking about late next season around rally time ordering a 32BL :)

RE: ADVICE FOR FIRST 5TH WHEEL

I would second the Crossroads Cruiser line. They have all alum. construction, walls, roof truss and floor joists. The floors/roof/walls are framed 16" OC, just like your home. The walls have fiberglass batts and there is additonal insulation via astrofoil reflective sheets in the floor/roof/walls. Also, they don't use OSB, they use plywood decking on the roof and main living areas.
There are many floorplans, great units, longer warranty then most (2+5 years) and great owner's forum.

Good luck, we looked at the Copper Canyon but a few things I didn't like were the fit/finish, low R-value and they use OSB decking (personal choice).

RE: Crossroads RV?

Love our Crossroads. I was just getting it ready for winter today and I can't think of any other brand I'd rather own right now.
I don't think, at their price range, you'll find a better camper with better warranty and factory support.

RE: Jayco 21M 2009 leak inside bathroom wall

A vent stack will leak (look at Chuck's pictures) if the cap is missing.

RE: Tralier financing---avoid GEMB/THOR

I may have doubted you a few months ago but after going through a similar hassle with my lease provider, GMAC, I can tell you these folks in the banking industry are absolute morons.
GMAC cashed my check and took the funds on a payment. They then proceeded to send me a late notice 14 days after my payment date. Long story short I called them and while they KNEW they had the check and cashed it they couldn't prove what they did with the funds!!!!!!!!! It never got posted to my account.
Thankfully my bank pulled a digital copy instantly and I faxed it to GMAC. Who knows what they did with the money but that's not my concern.
In the following months I have had other issues with them including posting my payment to the wrong lease (I have two through them) and posting the wrong amount ( they dropped 21 cents off my check, who the hell knows why!).

RE: Best GPS

I think you'd be fine with a regular GPS from Garmin or Tom Tom. I always avoid anything called a "parkway". Most highways through this country allow commercial trucks, when they don't they clearly post it and have a "truck route".
I followed big rigs from Maine to New Mexico. I have also taken other trips and I have always had good luck using truck route's.

RE: Jayco 21M 2009 leak inside bathroom wall

Getup on your roof and look around the vent pipe and cap. Is there a cap, is it missing? Does the caulking look defective? Is the caulking missing?

RE: This Flagstaff held together

Yea it does appear that the trailer held up real well. I saw this past summer the same thing on our highway up here, it was a Sprinter. The Sprinter was seperated from the frame/axles, box shredded and slides off to the side.

RE: Shower Door... Adjustable?

Mine is doing the same thing in my Cruiser, looks to be the same brand of shower door. The problem is that it's not a piano hinge but just to "pins", one on the top and one on the bottom. If you find a fix let me know, to shut the door I have to slightly "lift" as I close.
